Hot water is one of those things you don’t think about until you run out. Whether it’s a cold shower at 6 a.m., a restaurant that cannot sanitize its dishes, or a commercial facility that fails a health inspection, the consequences of a failing water heater go well beyond inconvenience. Majestic Plumbing & Electric has been solving water heater problems for homes and businesses in Roswell since 2005. Whether the issue is a minor repair or a full system replacement, our licensed technicians accurately diagnose and fix it right the first time.

Reliable Hot Water Solutions for Homes & Businesses in Roswell, GA

When a water heater stops working, it’s more than just an inconvenience. It interrupts daily routines, halts business operations, and causes unnecessary stress for everyone. Residents and facility managers in Roswell need a dependable solution that restores hot water quickly. Majestic Plumbing & Electric provides expert water heater repair and installation services to keep homes and commercial properties running smoothly. We get there fast and help you sort it out.

Key Water Heater Problems in Residential & Commercial Systems

Roswell homeowners and business owners face the same water heater issues time and again. Here’s what to watch for.

Inconsistent Hot Water Output

A sudden drop in hot water capacity often points to a failing heating element or a malfunctioning gas burner. In commercial facilities, this inconsistency can disrupt operations and violate health codes. For example, restaurants require specific water temperatures to meet sanitation standards. We test the internal components to locate the exact cause of the temperature drop.

Loud or Unusual Tank Operation Sounds

A rumbling or popping noise usually means sediment has built up along the tank bottom. Roswell’s hard water speeds this up. The noise occurs when water trapped under the sediment layer boils and forces its way up. A sediment flush often resolves the issue, but loud banging warrants a professional inspection before the tank lining is damaged.

Mineral & Sediment Buildup Inside the Tank

Hard water accelerates mineral scale buildup inside tankless heat exchangers and traditional tanks. This buildup directly cuts output efficiency and increases energy consumption. Over time, the scale insulates the heating element from the water, forcing the system to work harder. Regular flushing prevents this accumulation and protects the internal components.

Water Leaks Around Tank or Connections

Water pooling around the base of the unit indicates a serious issue. Leaks at fittings or valves are often repairable, but a cracked tank usually means replacement. Even a small drip can lead to significant water damage if left unaddressed. We inspect the entire system to determine the source of the leak and recommend the most effective solution.

Discolored or Rust-Tinted Hot Water

Brown or rusty water is a sign that something is corroding. Sometimes, the discoloration comes from the pipes, which can be repaired by section. If the rust originates from the water heater itself, repair is no longer an option; you’ll need to replace the unit. We check the water supply to confirm where the rust is coming from before suggesting a solution.

Reduced Hot Water Flow or Pressure

Low pressure makes everyday tasks like showering or washing dishes frustrating. If scale buildup in the pipes or water heater is restricting water flow, it requires immediate attention. To restore proper pressure and prevent further damage, we clean the affected areas and replace any heavily scaled components to bring the pressure back to normal.

Early Indicators Your Water Heater May Be Failing

Catching a problem early is almost always cheaper than waiting for a full system breakdown. These are the warning signs to watch for.

Slow or Delayed Heating Response

If the water takes significantly longer to heat up than it used to, the heating components are likely wearing out. This delay forces the system to run longer, which drives up energy costs. Replacing the worn parts early can prevent a complete system failure.

Frequent Hot Water Shortages

Running out of hot water frequently means the unit is either too small for the current demand or on its way out. Either way, it can no longer keep up with the property’s hot water needs. A growing family or increased business operations can quickly outpace an older unit’s capacity.

Rising Utility Costs Without Explanation

A sudden increase in energy bills could be a sign that the water heater is losing efficiency. Less efficiency means higher operating costs: As sediment builds up and parts wear down, the system consumes more power to achieve the same results. Upgrading to a newer model often offsets these costs through energy savings.

Visible Rust, Moisture, or Tank Wear

External signs of wear, such as rust spots or moisture on the tank exterior, suggest internal corrosion that will eventually lead to failure. Once rust appears on the outside, the tank’s structural integrity is compromised. It’s better to replace the unit before it bursts and causes water damage.

Aging System Beyond Recommended Service Life

Traditional tank water heaters usually last 8 to 12 years, while tankless units often last 15 to 20 years. If the unit is approaching or has surpassed this age range, it’s time to consider a replacement. Older systems lack the energy-saving features of modern models and are more prone to unexpected breakdowns.

Water Heater Repair Services in Roswell, GA

Most water heater problems come down to a handful of components. Our technicians diagnose the issue and fix the specific part that’s causing it.

Heating Element, Burner & Thermostat Repairs

We replace faulty dip tubes for balanced heating, test thermostats, and adjust gas valves for accurate heating. These targeted repairs restore consistent performance. By addressing specific component failures, we extend the life of the entire system without requiring a full replacement.

Leak Searching & Plumbing Component Fixes

We inspect the system to find leaks and repair faulty pressure relief valves or degraded connections. We fix what’s broken and leave everything else alone. Our team uses precise diagnostic tools to pinpoint the source of the moisture, ensuring we replace only the necessary parts.

Gas Line & Electrical System Diagnostics

Our trained technicians know commercial plumbing inside and out. We diagnose gas line and electrical issues safely and efficiently. Proper diagnostics prevent safety hazards like gas leaks or electrical shorts, protecting both the property and its occupants.

Tank Flushing & System Efficiency Restoration

Flushing out sediment buildup from tanks removes mineral deposits, restores smoother operation, and improves overall energy efficiency. This routine maintenance service is one of the most effective ways to keep a water heater running well for years.

Water Heater Installation & Replacement Services

When a repair is no longer appropriate, we handle the full replacement from start to finish. Here is what that process covers.

New Water Heater System Setup

We help property owners select a system that works with their space, water use, and energy needs. We make sure it’s set up right from the start. A proper installation prevents future issues and ensures the unit operates at peak efficiency from day one.

Full Replacement of Old or Damaged Units

We handle the full removal of the old unit, update piping if needed, and check everything before we leave. We dispose of the old equipment responsibly, so you don’t have to worry about hauling away a heavy tank.

Energy-Efficient & Tankless Upgrade Options

Tankless water heaters heat water on demand, offering endless hot water and higher energy efficiency. We install high-quality tankless systems that save space and lower utility costs. These modern units are an excellent choice for homes with high hot water demand.

Safe Installation with Full Code Compliance

Our certified plumbers ensure all pipes are upgraded to support the new water heater and that the unit is safely installed in compliance with local codes and regulations. We pull the necessary permits and handle the inspections, making the process simple for you.

Our Water Heater Service Process

Every job follows the same structured process, from the first inspection to the final walkthrough. Here’s how it works.

On-Site System Inspection & Assessment

We start by evaluating the current system to determine the exact cause of the problem. This initial step allows us to understand the scope of the issue before recommending any repairs.

Detailed Diagnostics & Issue Identification

We don’t guess, we diagnose the actual issue. Whether it is a worn-out thermocouple or a failing heating element, we test the components to find the root cause.

Clear Estimates with Repair vs Replacement Options

We provide upfront pricing and explain the options. If a repair extends the system’s life at a reasonable cost, we’ll tell you. If the unit genuinely cannot be saved, we explain exactly why. You make the final decision based on clear, honest information.

Professional Repair or Installation Work

We execute the chosen solution using proven methods and high-quality parts. We don’t just patch the problem up until the next failure; our goal is to provide a long-lasting fix that keeps your hot water flowing.

System Performance Testing & Safety Checks

We test the newly repaired or installed system to verify it operates safely and efficiently. We check for gas leaks, test the water temperature, and ensure the pressure relief valve functions correctly.

Final Cleanup & Customer Walkthrough

We clean up after every job, leaving the space just the way we found it. We then walk the customer through the completed work, explaining what repairs were made and how to operate the new system.

Frequently Asked Questions

If the unit is making a rumbling noise, a flush often clears the sediment causing the sound. However, if the tank is leaking or the unit is over ten years old, a replacement is usually the better option. We inspect the tank to determine the best course of action.

Yes, tankless units provide a continuous supply of hot water. We evaluate the home’s peak demand to ensure the installed unit can handle the required flow rate. Multiple bathrooms running simultaneously require a unit with a higher gallon-per-minute capacity.

An unusual odor often indicates bacteria growth inside the tank or a failing anode rod. Replacing the anode rod and flushing the system typically resolves the issue. We can also adjust the temperature slightly to prevent bacterial growth.

A leaking water heater can cause significant water damage to the property. If the leak reaches electrical components, it creates a severe shock hazard. Gas units with leaks also pose a risk of gas buildup if the pilot light goes out.

We prioritize urgent calls and strive to provide fast, reliable service to address emergencies as quickly as possible. We keep our trucks stocked with the parts to complete most repairs in a single visit.

Yes, an oversized tank wastes energy by keeping excess water hot, while an undersized unit struggles to meet demand and runs constantly. Selecting the right size ensures optimal efficiency and comfort.

Annual flushing and replacing the anode rod every three to four years are two of the most effective ways to reduce sediment buildup and prevent corrosion. Regular maintenance keeps the system running efficiently and prevents premature failure.

The cost varies based on the specific part needed and the complexity of the repair. Minor fixes may cost under $100, while more extensive repairs can reach several hundred dollars. We provide clear estimates before starting any work.

My hot water heater finally died on a Thursday evening. I called Majestic Friday morning about 9am. Hannah scheduled my service for 1-4pm. She contacted me at 9:15am to let me know a technician was available about 10am. Eryk arrive at 10:30. When he arrived he immediately evaluated that my heater was leaking from the bottom and at 26 years old, it had served it's purpose well. Eryk advised me on what needed to be done to replace the heater, gave me choices of sizes to meet present and future needs based on the size of the house. I chose a 50 gal gas tank. Without hesitation Eryk left to get the tank, returned in 1hr. and got to work. He took out the 40 gal tank and brought up the 50 gal tank in a L shaped 2 story staircase without hitting or damaging the walls by himself! He took out all the old fixtures, replace them with brand new. Cleaned up everything afterwards, showed me how to use the shut offs, and controls. There's not enough superlatives to describe Eryk's professionalism, conscientiousness, skill and meticulousness. I highly recommend this company and will indeed use them again!

Thought I had a water heater leak and was concerned about potential flooding. Called at 10:30 am on Friday and Customer Service said they could have someone out later in the afternoon. At 1pm I got a text from Eryk who said he was on the way. After examining the 4 year old water heater he noticed that there was a potential issue with the overflow drain. Turned out there was a blockage that just required snaking. He was in and out in an hour and problem was solved. He and his assistant had great communication and were very efficient. Great job guys!
